Question

Exterior Concrete Side Walk Enforcement

Hello everyone,
My question is if there is a code that requires use of minimum enforcement
material like wire mash for exterior concrete side walk subject to vehicle traffic other than public side walks.

That falls under the 'ask the engineer' catagory

However if it is on public land, the city generally does not want rebar in the concrete so as when they have to break it out down the road it comes out much easier!! I know it sounds silly, but that is their theory in the municipalities I have worked in.

Chris thank you for your reply, however my question was other than public work or public ares, is there a code(UBC) that requires to reinforce the concrete in some means? if there is and anyone knows, please reply and tell me where to look for it with a code or article #.
Thank you all

Re: Exterior Concrete Side Walk Enforcement

Correction on last reply, assuming there isn't an engineer of the record to ask. I am seeking for a code that requires reinforcement.
Thanks again
