Exposed Pebble Concrete Patio Help

I can't find any help on how to create a concrete patio with embedded river pebbles. These are the tiny pebbles about the size of a fingernail. My best guess is to order normal mix like for a driveway. And then float it good to bring up the soup. Sprinkle? pebbles at some point. Tamp them down. Wait some more. Brush and wash.

I don't know when to do these steps, if these are even the right steps.

Does it have to be a two pour process using mortar mix?

Thanks for any advise,

Re: Exposed Pebble Concrete Patio Help

If your talkin about a river gravel finish it's usually done with gravel and epoxy. The short version is Pour 200 lbs of gravel on deck, hollow out like a volcano and pour epoxy into the center. Once that is done mix with shovel until even consistency and spread with trowel, bull float ect. We rough spread with shovel, but we usually have a four man crew. One mixer, one spreader and two on trowels. Repeat until done.
