Concrete questions?
I am curious how prices are in other markets....my concrete guy hit me with a $6 a cu/yd increase yesterday....making 3500# run about $93 a yard.....bar is high...number 4 is running $5.75 a stick, bundle quantities, and we are charging about $1.50 to form, pour, and finish...grade work and footings are extra.
The concrete sub I use for big jobs brought me a proposal on a commercial building I am bidding on for $5.78 a sq/ft on 3750 sq/ft, 5 inches with steel on 2 ft centers....
So what are the rest of you charging or paying?

That doesn't seem crazy to me ($.43/#). I don't think I've actually checked rebar prices in 15 years and I have old quotes in the $.20 - $.30 /# range.
I sub out various structural concrete work and depending on volume it'll run from $600 to over $800 per CY.
Raedy-mix delivered is close to $100 with all the surcharges, taxes and fees.

The last I got was quoted $75 yd. But, anything under 10 yds and it's environmental$, fuel$, small load$, and anything else they can come up with. Bottom line $105 yd.

I just paid last months concrete invoices.
One company I deal with:
3,000# $120/yd includes delivery plus
$1.00/yd environmental surcharge
$6.00/load fuel surcharge
$45.30 sales tax
9yd load = $1140.30 or $126.70/yd.
I'm not sure why but on that load the didn't hit me with the winter surcharge for hot water which is $5/yd.
The other company I deal with:
3,000# $80.10 for the concrete
$22/yd delivery
$1.00/yd environmental surcharge
$10/load fuel surcharge
$3.00/yd hot water
$38.35 tax
9 yd load = 1003.25 or $111.47/yd.
Rebar in December was $938.64/ton for 1/2 inch grade 40 or $6.02 per stick. It was as high as $9.00/stick last year for less than 1 ton orders.

I just poured 42 yards of 3000 yesterday and I got it for 72 a yard no fuel charge or that extra charge for the truck taking longer to get back. I did get the contractors discount tho. With out it it would have been 98 a yard. I charge 1.95 sq ft to from, pour and finish. Footings add .35 and any grade work for the slab the price changes depending on how much fill I need or how much I have to remove.
