Re: Anyone Used One Of These?

This is one of the top questions that we get. The R2 Tech is based partially on the idea that concrete, while in a liquid state, will seek its own level when vibrated. We recommend that anyone using an R2 Tech would pour between a 4-6” slump. It is also important that you start level and have good placers. So leave the high school kids with garden rakes at home! If you start level and your placers are doing their job, especially by not pushing or removing concrete directly in front of the blade, you will be fine. Like any other vibrating screed, there is a bit of a learning curve to the R2Tech, but once you get a few pours under your belt you can’t beat it.

In regards to the question regarding doing slopes.
The R2 Tech can do a single grade slope pour if you have a laser that will shoot it. The blade will no tilt horizontally, which makes a dual grade slope impossible. You can still pour a dual grade slope with our machine, like using a standard vibrating wet screed like our Shockwave, but you can’t use the auto leveling feature. When we have used it for basement floor drains we usually go right up to the drain and then mag around it. If you were doing a trench type drainage system it would depend on where you start to slope down. You can run it with the laser up to the point of the slope and either adjust your laser for the slope at that point or finish using grade pins.

Re: Anyone Used One Of These?

So how about a demo on site? Or even better, a 1 month trial, since I can give you a great review?

Why don't you contact him directly, don't send the man on a wild goose chase. Joasis displays his phone number on every post.

Besides you missed an "L" in your email address.

I too am interested in how well this machine works. You could send one demo to Joasis, that would handle the Midwest. Send one to me, that would handle the Mid Atlantic area. I'll bet we could get some demos in other parts of the country as well.

If these are as good as you say they are.....we'll market them for you.

A couple freebies won't kill ya..

No kidding....videos posted here would be worth a lot, considering the page views we get.

Heard any more from these guys J?
It's been a month now, and I have some slabs coming up in the next few weeks.

I was hoping you'd ship me your demo and let me give it a try.

Re: Anyone Used One Of These?

Hey there guys wonder if anybody got to use one of the R2s yet. I never have been real impressed with any of the vibra screeds. We have always just set wet screeds with a laser and hand sticked them with great succes. You guys seem to have the demos taken care of in the midwest maybe the marshall town man could hook us up here in the east.

I have a contact number and a 15% off of purchase, if I want to demo, then buy. Just hasn't hit my schedule yet.

Re: Anyone Used One Of These?

Well J you're having better luck than I am.

I sent an email to the link posted by mnmtownco and have not yet heard back.

My email below sent last Friday.

Quote:
I am interested in getting more information about the R2-Tech screed device.

I have only heard of it through this web site, http://www.contractortalk.com/f83/an...e-these-65828/
I would be interested in trying out a demo unit if one is available for demo in my area.
I am located in *******************; I can be reached at *************
Maybe the Marshall town guy will see this and help me out.

I have a patio slab I would love to hit with this thing, 1/4" per foot slope, I have the laser to set up and ready to give it a go. It gets flagstone over the concrete so if it's not true....no biggie.

If I don't hear from someone....maybe I'll give you a call and get your contact number and see if I can track down the East Coast rep and give him hell for not responding to my email.

Re: Anyone Used One Of These?

I am not able to send you a private message, and don't want to post my numbers here, but if you PM me, email me or click the gebcon link at the bottom of this page you can easily find my numbers.

I am pretty excited to try this out. I have a couple small slabs coming up that are inside of a building so gasoline powered tools are not an option.

Your battery operated self leveling screed could be the ticket.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Anyone Used One Of These?

Looks sweet and all but who is to say in a year or 3 yrs from now this battery type will be the industry standard? This thing is only as good as it batteries in Mo. The crete at the front of the blade will build up in a hurry unless its pre graded by guys with a good eye and your still going to have a guy to tend. So your losing a guy for the pour, maybe?, but your probably going to need that guy to finish later anyway if its in the sun ,so how much is really saved? Plus most commercial jobs require a 5in slump or less in my state and i would rather have a gas engine to power through stiff concrete. I would like to be able to ride a cold joint because the concrete truck hit traffic an was running late. Make that video and i may think otherwise. All the power screeds will vibrate wet concrete to a smooth result. If your specs require good f numbers maybe its the way to go. Anything outside usually requires a pitch . Vibrating screed on a pitch I would have to see that. I would think screedy gonzales sits in the truck and I need the extra guy again anyway. Just my opinion here , Thoughts?

Re: Anyone Used One Of These?

Problem with it , its only a Y-axis tool , to get good F-numbers it needs to be an X-axis also . If it had 2 recievers on the ends of the blade it could get ok results with some skilled operator . I'd like to see somebody win a golden trowel with that .

I'd also like to hear what Earl Somero would say about the product .
Has any one ever done a FF/FL point elevation survey after a floor strike by this machine ?

L-Enterprises
If you read my post at he top of page 2 it explains your question regarding the x and y axis. One recorded example using the R2 Tech was an FL of 26 and FF of 48.

Re: Anyone Used One Of These?

We received the numbers from a contractor in Ohio that was doing a 20,500 sq ft pour. I'm not certain the specific details of the pour in regards time it took or what slump they were pouring.
