Anyone Into Decorative Curbing

I have looked into a couple of curbing franchises and am curious what your experience might have been like. Presently i do a pretty good business in decorative pavers and retaining walls especially in outdoor kitchens and thought that this might be a lower cost similiar product. If i get in the door with a new client i want to get them on board for some kind of sale. The ROR on these packages seems reasonable and i believe i could make it quite profitable however i also believe in the wiley e coyote principle."everything looks good on paper until the big rock lands on your head" Any input you guys could offer would be appreciated

Re: Anyone Into Decorative Curbing

I have a friend that does this and nothing else. He recently transplanted here to NC from FL. He did it 10 years there, then all the landscape guys started doing it and the market got flooded. Here, he is the only game in town. He's been here 6 months, went on a marketing blitz, got his name out there quick, and is doing pretty well with it. I think he's charging something like $5-6 a foot, a little less for large jobs. The material is pretty cheap- just sand, cement, and color. It's a pretty good gig. This guy can sure sell it though, a couple thousand feet a week.
