Ruling Pen Issues
Hi am new here, I have a question for you folks.
I have been drafting for about six years. I have spent most of my time on the computer lately, but, I learned to draft on the table. My issue is that my ruling pen is working erratically, I will draw a line or two and then it stops. It is full of ink the nibs are in good condition, but I just can not get it to feed the ink. As a side note I did not change the distance between the nibs. If you all have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate the help. Best, Archiphile |

Re: Ruling Pen Issues
Throw the pen away, come fully into the 21st century and get a true BIM (Building Information Modeling) program.
Andy. And change your signature to "Archi(p)hile" |

Re: Ruling Pen Issues
I have a copy of Revit Architecture 2009, SketchUp Pro, and AutoCAD Architecture 2009. I do not need more software. The project I am working on is small enough that it is much faster to manually draft it.
On the second point I will have to look in to how to change my user name. |

Re: Ruling Pen Issues
Oh Revit is great. I have Revit 2008 but yes it would be over-kill for a small job. With Architecture you should have AutoCAD 2009, easy enough to do the 2D stuff with that.
Why use the old school pens? I use Steadtler (Spelling) .1-.9 felt tips, they always work well for quick pen drawings. Sorry if I was a little out of line, some times I come on a bit too strong. Andy. |

Re: Ruling Pen Issues
Old school drawing is out of the norm anymore, if it's small or large job you will become much more efficient with a modeling program, there is no way I could go to hand drawings: autocad has become my crutch. haha
