need opinion on certain CAD program

Hey fella's
I'm tired of drawing by hand and am in the market for an inexpensive Auto cad program. I'm a one man and sometimes one helper handyman outfit with some evening time on my hands but I need a program that is easy to learn and inexpensive to buy. I've looked at the Deltacad program and tried it for free for a month, it seems like what I'm looking for. Any opinions or help would be appreciated

Thanks ahead of time

I think you are just going to have to feel them out, see which one works easiest for you. No one can really tell you what you will like to use. We don't know. There are many out there. Take a look at the CAD thread I started, it's a good place to go to try some out.

How cheap is cheap? I use softplan and love it. You can get the LITE version for $995 and it will do just about anything you want for a small company. I drew several full sets of plans on it before I upgraded to the full program.

Anyway you go there is going to be a learning curve and you just need to take time to learn a little each day and don't give up.

You can get Home Designer Pro for about $4-500.00, it is a watered down version of Chief Architect which is what I use, or get a deal on ebay for TurboCAD 12 with Architectural pack for about $250.00. Come to think of it TurboCAD might give you the best bang for your buck.

Remember, if you have questions, there needs to be people there to help you. AutoCAD by far has the largest user group.
