They do look exactly like bat turds. I have a friend whose house was infested with bats when she bought it. The pest control guy informed her that they are a protected species and put nets over the areas of access so they bats could get out, but not back in. Takes a few weeks for the bats to relocate, then the nets come down. Now they're prolly in the neighbors attic.

Not really, mice don't send a chill up the back of my neck. On the other hand, several bats circling in a basement with a 6'6" ceiling gave me the willies. Dammit, those things are creepy.

For some reason the last 2 years ive had one in my house the first week of september. The first one my wife freaked the hell out she wouldnt even go in the house. It landed on the dropped ceiling i grabbed it and threw it outside. Had one this year though gave me the creeps. Got home sat down at comp and my sons like dad theres a bird in the house. Turned around like wtf a bird and that sob dive bombed me about hit me in the face. Lol he ran outside in his socks pouring down rain, i got the 2 girls closed in a bedroom. Open the kitchen door out onto the closed porch and got the bat and the dog trapped out there and it started doin its famous circles of fear. Took about 15 mins of solid broom swinging but i knocked his ass out cold.

This past spring, I reached under my workbench to grab a tool case, heard a hissing noise. WTF? I thought it was a snake. Got the light on, it was a bat. It must have been under the shelf and I knocked it down with the box. That thing was hissing, showing it's teeth... CREEPED ME OUT. Put his a$$ in tupperware and relocated it.

Re: Are These Roaches Or Mice??

Looks like you have a rodent problem indeed! Since you are an Electric Contractor and not a Pest Control Specialist, hopefully these basic tips can help.

I'd start by doing a thorough check around the perimeter of the property to seal off all potential areas of entry for rodents. Try checking foundation vents to see if they are busted open, crawl spaces, cracks in the building, dryer vents, attic vents, etc. Stop their entry/reentry immediately.

Once you have sealed off potential sources of entry, set the traps of your choice. I would recommend setting rat traps not only in the property (living spaces/attic/basement) but outside along the fences perhaps even on some of the trees. They tend to live in trees and make their way around on fences, and will easily find a way into your attic or property at entry points above eye level!

Finally, make sure you are not leaving any food out on the counter, in the pet's dish, etc. If you are storing food in a pantry, make sure it's all closed as best as possible. Perhaps even try some plastic containers to store open boxes of cereal/crackers/cookies/etc. If you cut off their food supply, they will be more likely to find their way into the traps you have set, or starve altogether.

Hope this helps!

Re: Are These Roaches Or Mice??

Those are mice droppings from the size and roach droppings are squared off and look like chocolate sprinkles. Also like the pest control guy above suggested is true. Usually mice will stay within 10-15 feet of the nest site. Roof rats generally travel throughout but have scene cases of mice infestation in the house and attic. Seal areas set some glue boards or traps along the traveled aread like along baseboards etc. If using spring traps face them vertically where the trigger is facing the path.

Re: Are These Roaches Or Mice??

I agree with those that suggested that it is mice droppings, although in certain areas i've noticed that frogs and lizards (florida) can leave similar fecal matter, and Roaches can as well. But if a person is seeing this amount of droppings, they would also notice visible roaches depending on the species. I would say Mice.

I have a can of the good stuff, seal still intact under the cap. Found this in the back of a cupboard in a dodgy flat I lived in.

Its mouse dropping mice are very smart. I Put out a motion detection camera once caught three mice. I'm think if I put out another camera I can catch more.

Re: Are These Roaches Or Mice??

These are the droppings of mice and are usually found in your kitchen area, specifically behind the stove, fridge and sometimes around the heating system. You need to get the treatment by hiring a professional residential pest controller/exterminator.
