Are you sure it bed bugs? They look like they could be ringworm. They are highly contagious. I got them a few times during my high school wrestling days.

Re: How To Recognize A Bedbug Symptoms

There is a guy in my hometown that has a dog that sniffs out bedbug infestation.

Contracts out to hotels and stuff to check for bedbugs, mostly after oilfield workers have moved out

My mother used to talk about when she was a child to have to deal with them. Now I guess they are making a big comeback. Can't remember where, midwest? Ohio? Arkansas? Nasty little ****ers.

Re: How To Recognize A Bedbug Symptoms

Tough to tell from the pic but I tend to agree it may not be a bed bug bite. Never forget the 'luggage' as that is probably how you transported them in.

Re: How To Recognize A Bedbug Symptoms

Bed bugs are average about 1/4" long. They resemble a tick somewhat. Bites are usually in a line, 4 or 5 in a row. Thay are normally found in sleeping areas, if folks sleep on the couch frequently they will be there. Thay are tough to get rid of sometimes. Thay hide in cracks and crevises. One of the best sprays is 565 with XLO. Using the heat method is good but the bug has to be heated to above 130 degrees F. It takes a lot of heat to get the inside of your walls to the temps needed.

Re: How To Recognize A Bedbug Symptoms

Bed Bugs as a weapon

A municipal building in Des Moines, where they issue building permits and what not, was recently the recipient of a bag of bed bugs. I think they closed down the building and had to heat it up, etc.

Would be a real pain if you worked there.

Beware if you are in a state building in Madison.

Re: How To Recognize A Bedbug Symptoms

Makes me wonder why the saying "good night, don't let the bed bugs bite" became so popular...

Re: How To Recognize A Bedbug Symptoms

I think the dark red spots on body and on light colored sheet are the easiest way to detect bed bugs. Thanks for letting me know.
