How do I get rid of carpet beetles?

I found carpet beetle larvae in my kitchen six months ago and I did common cleaning and thought I got rid of 'em, but I just found adult bugs!.

They're the "varied carpet beetle" type and foggers from Home Depot says "Black Carpet Beetle" as if they're trying to say it's not effective on any other type. Some websites say not to even bother with a fogger.

What do I use??

Carpet beetles typically lay eggs/larve in dead animal carcasses. So your first step is to check attic, basement/crawlspace for any dead animals. Then step 2 is vaccum everything--especially the where the carpet/flooring meets the wall, because thats where animal and human hair and dead skin cells collect. step 3 is have the carpets steam cleaned again paying special attention to the edge.(don't forget the furniture). Finally after everything else you can treat the rooms at the base board with a non residual pyrithroid based chemical. Look in the phone book for pesticide chemical distributor, since you have contractor licensing and some type of business license they will sell non restricted pesticides to you. but not direct to public

Pyrethroid based chemicals... that's what all the foggers and sprayers sold at Home Depot are. What's the differnece between these and the ones you're talking about?
