I use to use the green pellets in my basement to kill the mice...they blow up about 3 sizes....dogs love to eat them (mice). Since we like our dogs we do not use the green pellets (d-con?) anymore.

My daughter climbed into our lazy susan when she was 1 and found some. Poison control claims that we can eat them and not die, but if we get cut it will thin our blood and we can bleed to death. Come to find out the swifter cleaning pads will not kill a 1 year old either. I use to have poison control on speed dial!

Have you tried canned baby foods? Or even breast milk?

Double A, we spent a small mint child proofing the house! We did not have any money left so we figured since we already had the D-con, one meal a day would not hurt until we got back on our feet. The swifter pad could make a meal if you add a little maple syrup.

When she figured out how to remove a child proof lid on med's, I had the honor of calling poison control for the 3rd time. She is now 5, scary thing is our new daughter is only 2 months old.....no more d-con or swifter pads in the house.

Hole for my kids or to bury the rat? Give the rat to the local union, they will leave it on a non-union job.

The rat, of course. Sinking kids in the back yard can get you into big trouble. I know that most of us have had the idea but let it pass, they MAY move out soon.

Give the rat to the union and they'll have to call in the pest control union. Cost of getting rid of a rat, $500.

A couple of years ago the Unions up here had this big inflated rat that was 20 or so feet tall. They would march outside of non union jobs and the big rat would catch the public's eye. I heard from non union shops on how the union will mess with you if you take one of their jobs. SO, IMHO they might do something a little more "fun" with the rat.
