Insulation under a metal roof

I had a client ask the following and wasn't sure of the answer:

What is the best way to insulate between the ceiling joists under a standing seam metal roof?

It's a very old house with a flat roof. The joists are 2x6 or 2x8...I didn't measure them since I was on the roof outside when he asked the question. There is no attic space. He noted that the metal roof gets some condensation on the inside due to the temperature difference. He wants to insulate and then drywall underneath.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

Sprat foam would be best.

Is it tricky to use closed cell foam insulation kits? This is for a ceiling job.

Hire a insulation company that blows in closed cell spray foam. That will give you the most insualtion for such a small rafter. If there is enough head room then I would put 1-2" of rigid foam on the inside of the rafters to create a thermal break. They you can strap and blueboard.

You won't get the same results & the cost for the DIY kits equals what a pro charges
