Insulation Dilemma

Ok here is my problem. I gutted the bathroom and 2 of the walls are exterior walls. There is water infiltration under the windows and in the corner of two walls. Also a section of the exterior sheathing is completely rotted. The customer is not having the roof redone yet nor the windows. I can't fix the sheathing from the inside obviously so this is my dilemma. I do not want to put regular fiberglass insulation in the bays( which are 2 x 6 ) for obvious reasons. Only two walls are exterior and require insulation. I want something water resistant so I want to use expanding foam.
The problem is that I don't want the foam to adhere to the exterior sheathing for when it is replaced and the job is so small that no spray foam insulators will do it. What are my options.

Re: Insulation Dilemma

Water infiltration and the customer isn't concerned yet? Wow!

I suppose you could install 1/2 inch styrofoam in the stud bays, then use foam.....all that comes to mind besides asking the customer if they actually understand the problems with the exterior of their home.

Re: Insulation Dilemma

Yeah it is ridiculous. The exterior is stucco(not the eifs type). The roof is a flat roof that is in terrible shape. I thought about the 1/2 ridgid foam then spray foam. Since it is a small area can I just buy the cans of triple expanding foam and use them.

get paid for the work you did so far and run like hell. if you finish the job you will be on the hook for all the damage.
