Cellulose Vs Fiberglass Insulation

Have new construction 2x6 walls (and BIG VAULT) have recommended cellulose to the owner for walls and ceiling but looking for pros/cons of both. The cellulose when they fill the stud spaces really looks good and should perform well but not sure how about your experience/knowledge on the subject.
Thanks,
Dave C

Far superior to fiberglass in many ways.

Re: Cellulose Vs Fiberglass Insulation

I don't do much insulation but will tell you what I've noticed in remods.

The old cellulose would collapse under its own weight over the long term 20-30 yrs. The new stuff with newer binders may be different, who will know until 20-30 yrs. from now? I hope that the fire retardent is better too as I had a plumber on one job leave with the ins. still smoldering and, fortunately, I do a final inspection before close-up every day.

Fiberglass tends to stay in place and glass only burns at very high temps.

Fiberglass is not the way to go. Great advances have been made with cellulose, and the settling issues have worked out...http://www.fiberlitetech.com/cellulo...n.products.htm
