Blown-in Fiberglass Insulation Installation
I have a question for the guys that do blown in fiberglass insulation. Is it possible if you have access to the top plates of the a home to drill holes through them at every cavity and fill the cavity that way instead of taking off the siding and drilling holes from the outside. I have never installed this material myself but would be interested in learning more about it. I would love to hear everyones comments.

Re: Blown-in Fiberglass Insulation Installation
Might be some guys here that know it, however if you go to Specialty Trades there is a section devoted to Insulation. I would post both in the general forum and in there, may find some more definite answers. Also try Construction or General discussion, a place where the majority of the "Regulars" hang in.

Re: Blown-in Fiberglass Insulation Installation
Cellulose is a much better choice then fiberglass...and typically, it is drilled and blown from the outside.

Re: Blown-in Fiberglass Insulation Installation
I can't imagine drilling big holes in the top plates every bay just for blown in insulation. That would weaken the structure.

Re: Blown-in Fiberglass Insulation Installation
Cellulose not fiberglass, fiberglass loses r value when it gets cold or I should say it doesn't insulate as well when it gets cold. There are plenty of sites that claim this is a fact. I believe it.
This link has some good insulation studies. http://www.buildingscience.com/bsc/
