Written estimate forms
I am starting to get more business and would like to provide my customers with a written estimate instead of just a verbal agreement. Does anyone know of any websites where I can find a form for writeen estimates? I basically want a professional looking form that I will include the price and what all is included in that price.
Thanks,

Hey kenrie. I don't use estimate forms, but instead just fill out the contract. It's normally not that much to type or write out under scope of work and then I fill in the price, start date, deposit, how long it will take, and type of paint on the spec sheet.
This way I can give them the price and get them to sign without me having to show them an estimate form and then go write up the contract.
If you really want an estimate form though, I think there are a few under the share forms thread. You could probably get a good idea and make your own with everything you want on it and nothing you don't.

Wow - I was just going to ask if you have a computer My blonde is coming out. Anyways.... you can make some nice preset forms just using Word or something. As your business expands, I highly recommend you not only have the contract - but you get the customer to sign it as well before work is started.

yeah this is what I was thinking.. Eventually I would like to have a 2 part form. One copy for the customer, one for me. On the front side of the page would be the estimate, what all is included, and the total price... On the back would be the contract, or terms and conditions.. This way I could kill two birds with one stone.. NOt sure how much it would cost, but I been looking around at some 2 part forms on the web and its not cheap. About 120 bucks for 250 of them.

If you have a Staples or Office Depot around you can get an Proposal & Acceptance form from them. They are generic but they will do if you want a 2 or 3 part form. You can even get your company printed on them but I think it's like triple the price. The generic ones are around $20.00. They have a lot of generic forms you could try. But definitely get a contract together.

I almost missed the first post, but thank GOD the second poster copied the entire thing over again for me to read.....
You can get what you are looking for made up with company logo and headers at the local office supply store.

Well I'm licensed in CT and RI and in RI providing written estimates is law. That being said, I've always given written regardless. I went to Staples and grabbed a product called "socrates". It's computer software and has all the forms you'll ever need for a business. I paid around $30.

Same in CT - and in CT, it is law to provide them with a "notice of right of cancellation" for all contracts. Law in the sense that if they don't pay - you don't have a leg to stand on!

Think they were talking about "business/file swap" under the main menu here.

Top of page, "forums" tab, then second section under busines is "business" forum. In there is the "file swap" section where the forms are.

YOu have to click on the articles tab up top, and then look up top again and then the resources tab will appear. Then you can go to file swap on the bottom left of the screen
