Wire Brushes

Any of you guys know where to get those real small wire bruses that fit into the orphices of spray guns to clean them out? I've looked at HD, Ace, Walmart, and Benny's.

Re: Wire Brushes

I've seen them in industrial supply warehouses.... In the US, I believe it might be called Grainger? The one I saw was a flip out kind with several different size tips. It was near all the welding stuff...

Re: Wire Brushes

You could try a gun supply store too. I recall my Dad having ones about that size for cleaning out barrels.

Re: Wire Brushes

Are you going to be using these to clean the tip on an airless sprayer?

Something tells me these things would just destroy an airless sprayer tip....

Re: Wire Brushes

Humble, we used them for cleaning and deburring extremely high precision holes, think air bearing tolerences which is what they were for.

I've used them in the past when I've been an employee and they work great. I am not looking to get anything real tough, just something to clean out the multiple holes in the gun and tips and such. I have never seen any other tool that works as good.

What do you guys use? 'water pressure' and 'nothing' are not good answers..lol

I've just always been told that airless tips were a much softer metal, I never actually looked it up. Paint solids will act as sandpaper after only 20 or so gallons...

Most of the time I'll use a soft or medium bristled toothbrush.

Yep! Any place that sells anything gun related usually has all different sizes available. Even Walmart got them.

actually airless tips are quite hard,89-93 on the rockwell hardness scale (100 being extremely hard.)

Re: Wire Brushes

On our Binks guns everything is disassembled and soaked in solvent prior to the next use. Air pressure finishes the job.

The tool that Danahy posted looks like a reamer for welding/brazing tips and might be a little coarse for an airless unit. They can leave burrs.

poe's comment needs to be refined. HRA, B and C are composed of 30 basic scales and more, specific, scales.

Re: Wire Brushes

I guess. Ask HIM to nail it down. What are the tips made of? Carbide? Garnet?
