Why Pay More For Blue?

What exactly is the difference between Blue and Green tape besides the price? I've tried both many times and even left them on the walls and trim for a week but they both came off easily.

Difference is the level of adhesive on the back. I think the green is for more delicate surfaces than the blue, and the purple is the most delicate of them all. Also, they can stay on surfaces for longer than usual amounts of time.

If you ever come across a job where I hung the wallpaper, please use the purple.

Re: Why Pay More For Blue?

I normally would just grab a roll of the blue tape over at Dunn Edwards, but a few weeks back I noticed that they had several different grades of the blue day ranging from 14day to 60day! I can't think of anything I'd mask off for more than 14 days though

3M makes a blue with an orange core, that is for sensitive area that are masked long term. The stuff feels like velvet to the touch, and you'll pay an arm and a leg for it.

the blue tape with the orange core is #2080...it is expensive but i love it...very little bleed thru...tried the #2090 a few times to save money and hated it!!!so i'm back to paying big time for the #2080...anyone have any other suggestions for me to try that won't be so pricey??
