Who do you use fpr payroll services?

Hi

I was going to sign up with ADP to do my payroll but I heard they are expensive. I am about to hire 2 employees for the first time and was just wondering who you guys use if any. Thanks again.

Why don't you do it yourself? Do you do your own books? I use Quickbooks Pro, and I can do payroll from within it. You have to pay for an annual payroll subscription which runs from 99 to 299 bucks depending on which version you need. As with anything new there is a learning curve.

My CPA does ours. They charge $25 every payroll up to 5 checks. They verify social security, pay all taxes to state, fed, etc. I fax in the hours and pick up checks next day. I love it, although i do plan on using Quickbooks soon and doing it myself.

We've used ADP for years- love em. We pay about $49 for every six guys here in Bay Area of CA
As to questions of "Why not do it yourself? We did for years. But the busier we got the harder it was to take the time to do it The final straw came when I filled out the quarterly, sent it off on time but sent it to the wrong IRS address. That one mistake cost me $1000 penalty.

Rather than hiring a bookkeeper we went with ADP.They guarantee everything- file everything, print out professional looking checks and take care of all quarterlies etc.

So for every six guys all I do is fax payroll on wed for previous week (5 minutes) and they are delivered to my door on Thursday. I sign the checks put em in the envelopes and voila! I'm done.

End of year I have a folder of all info for workers comp audits and they love it because it's third party.

It doesn't hurt to learn what you need to do, but a few mistakes are costly when it comes to payroll..

That's my opinion..

"We pay about $49 for every six guys "

Is that weekly or twice a month?

http://www.tjhpayroll.com/pricing/price.htm

these guys are very good, I can fill out the form online, or call it in and they send the checks, pre-signed, by CA overnight. They file my quarterlies too.

We have weekly payroll for our crews- quickly gets to be a hassle doing it yourself. We fill out a form that has our employees on it, with hours/totals, fax it in every wed morn, checks/stubs/paperwork delivered to us by courier (no extra charge) every Thursday by 11:00 am. We sign/put in envelopes, transfer money into a separate payroll account and we're done. It was cheaper when we only had a couple of guys.

I recently found that Bank of America W/ the Advantage banking will do it for free! Just signed up with them and everything is free...I pay nothing.
