Where is WisePainter?
I used a Purdy Colussus the other day for the first time per his advice and I loved it.

I have a colossus. I dont use it. Just picked up a wooster polar bear (same kind of roller). I never want to put it down, that thing is so fast in repaints!

if nothing else, i love the quantity of paint those babies hold. wise uses the 3/4" for walls so thats wat I tried. way less dips but you do have to lay it off tightly so you don't leave a gigantic stipple. i may try the 1/2" for walls just to experiment.

Yeah, I guess I miss wisep. Kinda like a scab you don't get to pick anymore. The pain is gone but it was still fun in a weird way.
I too tried the colossus recently and it doubles the paint per dip. Also the colossus mini rollers are the shiznit.

I always just figured it was some of the witty repartee of CT, which at times is amusing and does help threads keep going . But then of course we're not from Washington DC.....
As far as Colossus roller covers, they're just like anything else; they take a bit of a learning curve to get used to. Tried them when they first came out and gradually switched over. Just wish they made a 14".

Relax - he was calling me a punk for my DC jab in the post above, well maybe he wasn't - now that you mention it

The 1/2" holds absolutely no paint. Trust me stick with the 3/4 and you will get used to it. A little more back rolling but the extra paint per dip will cover that and then some. I have been using these ever since the first ones came out and had the wider diameter. A local paint store sold me about 100 of them for a buck a peice once SW bought out purdy around 5 years ago and I will not use anything else. I can do laps around anyone else 18 or not. But I do use the Wooster frame as the Purdy will tend to let more paint seep inside and then later fly out.

Hello everyone! Personally I hate when regulars go AWOL without explanation so I apologize for being one of them. I will be here from time to time, and I wish all of you success even though many of the current client base is making us (me) work harder to win the contracts.
I WISH that I had there problems...most of my regular clients have been reduced to simple millionaire$ due to the economy.
Nothing like faking sympathy as they cry on my shoulder about their "problems" and then reject my prices.
 pffft.
Seriously though, I hope most of you aren't allowing the current situation to cause self doubt in what you feel are MORE than reasonable prices!!!!
VIVA LA PINTURA!!!!!
P.S. Wife and twins are healthy and ready to pop! 3 more months to go.

You will find a whole new meaning

Best to all four of you.
