What Paint Do U Like Better?

I was just wondering what everyone thinks of the Porter/Pittsburg paint as to the Sherwin Williams product. The reps at Porter paint has been trying to get me to use their products but I have no idea if its as good as SW.

Pittsburgh makes great stuff. There manor hall line is awesome even there cheap speedhide line is great. Talk to the reps and they will give you good prices. I pay 8.10 for speedhide flat any color. I pay 18.00 for manor hall flat any color. There ext. timeless is great stuff.

We switched from BM back to pitsburgh. Pitsburgh offered us the price we needed. We were using the porter vinyl for awhile, due to its washability. Only after a while it was blowing brushes out. The good, really experienced brushes. We now use the midgrade line.We do residential new construction. Sherwin Williams have good paint, we could just never get the right price out of them.Pitsburgh has beat out Sherwin,BM, and ICI. So it works for us.

There is about to be another price raise as there is every year. Looking forward to that.

Hey paintwerks where are you getting your Pittsburgh in Chicago? I live on the outskirts but all my work is in the metro area. I use P&L now but my local hardware store sells pittsburgh and are always trying me to use it. They have a line called Pure Performance ever used that? I have use Manor Hall years ago can't remember if I liked it.

MakDeco,

I live in Lake in the Hills, NW suburbs, so I shop at the Palatine and Crystal lake Pittsburgh store. I havent used P&L in years great stuff also. Never tired the Pure Performance line. Pittsburgh goes on and dries kinda funky, but when its completey dries it looks great and touches up very nice.

Thanks Dan

Similar to P&L's red seal sometimes I wonder what its going to look like then it levels off or something and looks great. I am way down SW most of my work in Naperville area tho. I believe they opened a Pitt store in Naperville maybe i will check it out. If I get it here near my house its nice to know where I can get it near the job site for a back up.

I live in the small town of Minooka, My lumber yard is a full service Pitt dealer and the other hardware stroe in town carries P&L and Cabot. I used to use JC Licht's for my BM and still do when I have a job spec'ed for BM. I moved out here 2 yrs ago from the city had a hard time finding paint stores near me. But the little local guys treat me good and have good service in which has always been my thing. Service is king. I can not stand Lichts there service stinks or at least it did for me I never had a store close to me so using different stores close to the job I had always felt like I didn't belong or they didn't care for me. Also I am a small company just me and one other. I do pick up another helper in the exterior season on occasion. So I am not a big volume buyer like some others that used Licht's for BM.
