What Oil Paint For Woodwork

Hi I know this may have been answered before but I can't find anything.
Please tell me what is the best oil paint for woodwork, one which has the best flowing capacities and therefore no brush marks.

Regards D/B

Benny Moore's Satin Impervo or Porter's Glyptex.

I heard Porters gyptex is pretty good, but never used it. I like Ben Moores Impervo, but you have to thin it a bit. SW ProClassic oil is an ok product. Also, Duron makes a good oil I believe it is called evermore or everlast or something along those lines.

Ya, the glyptex high gloss is very self leveling, sprayed it looks like glass. Don't use oil much anymore but when I do... one of the first I go for.

Add Penetrol to BM Impervo--Penetrol thins the paint, helps it flow easier. I also find that a high-quality brush with soft bristle helps. But, totally brush-stroke free can be nearly impossible to achieve when you must do the painting with a brush. Good luck.

What retailers supply the Porters gyptex (glyptex--what is the correct spelling?)?

BM satin impervo or SW pro-classic

I would grab a quart of both and just see for yourself. This way you can compare instead of picking just 1 on account of what we say.

Good luck

Impervo

Though nothing leaves NO brushmarks except spraying
Personally I like a few brushmarks to show it was handcrafted

PPG high gloss industrial enamel. oil leaves a less noticable brush stroke because the oil dries slower so it fades out most of the brush stroke.

Re: What Oil Paint For Woodwork

Thank you so much for your replies I will be trying out the Porter stuff tomorrow,
As you might have seen in previous posts I relocated here from Scotland last year and have only really started back to work seriously a couple of months ago, although I had my own small business (4 men)
it is still taking time to get the jist on all the diff products hence my frequent visits here.
Once again ta much for all the help and advice

Regards D/B
