What kind of sprayers do you use?

I have a Spray-tech CS8100 and a Spray-tech EPX2155. Depending on how business goes I'll probably a larger sprayer later on.

I went to SW to get pricing on rigs but they kept wanting to charge me ticket price. I got my EPX 2155 for 689 and my CS8100 for 599.

I use to love those EP2105's I must have sold 50 over the last few years. I never once had a complaint.

Have any of you used any ASM tips lately? Any thoughts on performance vs. Spray-tech, Graco? I am wondering if the acquisition of ASM by Graco will change ASM products.

Any of you Maine-iacs know of good places for spray equipment or a spray center in the area?

I rarely spray anything, but when I do, I use an old Binks SuperBee.
I can't kill the thing, it just runs forever.

I currently use a Sherwin Williams SP, manufactured by Graco. I bought it used for doing new construction. Its a great pump, but I'm looking to upgrade to something bigger to handle some commercial work thats been coming my way. Plus I need a hi-boy, I'm tired of lugging my sprayer and 5 gal buckets around. Everyone I know seems to worship Graco, but I'm considering a Titan 640ix.

I've owned Gracos, Spraytechs and titans in the past. The "all around best" pump for me was the Graco 695, big enough to handle a fair size tip for spraying walls, and has a fast enough stroke to keep pressures consistant enough for spraying a nice finish on trim and doors. If you have the extra $$ I'd go with a graco, but i think the other major brands are all good sprayers.

Man I own a graco ultra 395. Bought it brand new three years ago, it cost me about 1200 bucks with hose gun and 5 free tips assorted sizes. It has worked like a charm. Of course i have only been doing residential work for now. Yeah it is small in size but its a tank. I also keep it in good shape. Make sure to clean all the paint and at the end of the day. i run some corro check and put a couple of drops of tsl to keep it in good condition. I also strain my paint before running it into the sprayer "always"

I have a Graco XR-9 box store special I bought for $600 that runs like a champ. I've sprayed everything from a couple closets to entire two story exteriors and haven't had any trouble with it yet. I clean it thoroughly and fill er up with spirits when I'm done. Every other company I've worked for always used Gracos so it's pretty much all I know.

This summer I picked up a Graco Magnum dx with a 515 tip 75hose and an extention tip. Real cheap because it's the runt of the litter I got it as a test to see if I would be comfortable spraying. And hell yes I am!

All jokes aside this little badboy actually works really well. I've already sprayed out 2 new contstructions(primer and ceiling finishes) with it and some exterior work.

I am definately upgrading next year.

I have heard of people using the magnum pumps as a back up pump but not a primary. The Graco rep use to let us Glidden reps borrow his demo unit for classes. I have to admit I was impressed by the little consumer pump.

Are any of the cheap little SW pumps any good? I thought about one for a back up.

I dont spray, but I have a Wagner 9190 that the mother-in-law bought for me in exchange for painting about 3000 sq ft of walls. Worked great. Since then did one exterior and a couple other projects. It mostly sits in the corner of my shop. I run it about once a month just to keep the juices flowing! The price was right!
