Re: Wet Sanding Tips??
I have tried it on patch jobs. Just could not get it to work. Mud seems to "melt" away too quickly.

Re: Wet Sanding Tips??
I agree the final result is not as good as with dry sanding, but if used for minor repairs in lath and plaster (read not perfectly flat surface anyway) its nice not to have dust flying everywhere and the end result is acceptable. It works best on hot mud or medium duty pre mixed, not the light duty pre mixed. The sponge can't be too wet though.

I do this when I am in a house full of furniture, glass ware, and nick nacs when there could be a mess.

Seems like I always end up taking to much material off. Also seems to smooth and often I find is more obvious than a dry sand do to lack of texture!

Re: Wet Sanding Tips??
I use a handful of new medium grit sponges and a 5 gallon bucket of water to perform a wet sanding on patches. Yes it takes longer, and yes it is a pain in the ass but there's a reason for doing it that surely justifies the troubles.
