Washable Paint

I did some painting a while back used a washable Benjamin Moore, customer tried wiping a few dirt marks off the wall and it discolored the paint. This happen to anyone before? It seams to only happen on the colors in the yellow family.

Re: Washable Paint

when a homeowner asks me if the paint is washable I tell them the mark may come off but paint discoloration can occur as well, but they (paint manufacturer) dont tell you the latter part on the can..... That way your covered.

Re: Washable Paint

Yellow is tough...it's a pigment thing

Exactly which paint was it?

It also depends on how they "wiped" it
A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser can wreak havoc with a sheen (and pigments), as can some cleaners

Re: Washable Paint

Only paints I've seen that you can really scrub to death with little damage are ceramic paints. Even then some discoloration is expected with deeper colors. It tends to not be as bad though. Some DTMs are also good for this as are paints based on a DTM formulation like Duration and Accolade.
