Warranty
What is your company warranty?- in short...
I have not established an officialy warranty to show the customer (waiting to be yelled at by my fellow tradesmen) but if they call, and it's something I missed or something logical I'll fix it. Gosh, sounds kinda lame now that I said that.... any tips to writing one up...

Re: WarrantyI was JK as you figured. I have no warrenty in place other than good relations with the customer that if they have any problems in a reasonable time they can call me and I will come back and look at the situation and see about correcting it. If they ask me to do something during production that iI am uncomfortable with I will let them know of the risks of not taking my advise which means if it fails, I told you it could fail under these conditions. I mostly work with people that I am comfortable with and shy away from the ones I don't. Things can be added to contracts in change work orders or stated in the beginning. |

Re: Warranty
Warranty as long as they provide you with a good reference. Tell them the day a prospective clients calls them for a reference and they either give a bad one or do not answer the phone, no more warranty!
In ten years I have never said the words "your warranty is up". I make my wife do it. |

Re: Warranty
2 years.... if they go for full prep and high end materials.
If you do it right it should last that long and some. P.S. only about half my work qualify's for the warranty. |

Re: Warranty
I use a 30/30 warranty.
30 feet or 30 seconds, whichever comes first! ![]() Really though, I use a fairly standard one year.

Re: Warranty
I) WARRANTY:
Contractor warrants that all materials will be of standard or above quality. Labor is warranted for a period of 2 (two) years. All product warranties will be extended to Customer upon payment in full for work completed. Contractor’s liability under a warranty claim shall not exceed the Total Price charged for the work performed. Customer shall make warranty claims immediately upon discovering defect or performance problem. *In the event that the substrate or any prior coating fails beneath what the Contractor has installed and/or applied, the Contractor will not be held liable for the failure of the substrate or any coating. Failure to comply with the terms, conditions, and payment schedule of this agreement will void all warranties. |

Re: Warranty
Pretty much a lifetime warranty on all custom projects. If something I made fails for no apparent reason I will try to remedy the problem. I make custom kitchens and built ins. Things with moving parts are what I pay special attention to, drawers, doors etc. Things like finishes, well they wear with time and that is to be expected. If the finish peels off in big sheets or chips in areas that aren't prone to banging I will fix that. Whenever I get another job from a previous client I will go in and inspect my work and adjust things without having to be asked or prodded. I guess I just take a lot of pride in what I build.
