Wallpaper Help!!!!!!!

I had a difficult time removing the wallaper from my hallway walls. The wallpaper was 3 layers thick and put directly on the drywall. when I took the wallpaper off (i used diff and a paper tiger) it seems like the first layer of drywall came off also. I have sanded the drywall down as much as i can but when i went to apply the joint compund the drywall was coming off into the compound. Also the section that I did, after the compound dried..it started bubbling all over.....What can I do to fix this.

I am not going to re-apply wallpaper I just want to be able to paint the walls!!

Re: Wallpaper Help!!!!!!!

You need to seal the drywall....Zinsser's Guardz. Then skim, sand, prime, and paint.

Yeah you'll need to Gardz it, skim coat it with joint compound, sand it, then prime it before painting

Yep, what they said is correct.
Seeing you are a homeowner, and not a contractor, please post other questions at our sister-site, DIY Chatroom.
Many of the pros here answer the questions over there. TIA
