Vintage Crown Molding?
I need some help guys.... Am doing a Victorian.. the customer has an old barn that she wants to clean out... asked if I could help her sell the stuff for a fee.. I said sure and even did a little trade off.. said I'll paint the barn also if I can have all the wood inside.. she said yes.... so here's what I got... by the way, her ex husband use to demolish old houses and remove what was valuable .. thats where this stuff came from ...... I got 20 to 30-12 ft hand carved very detailed crown moldings I'd say 1800's at least.. they are in excelent shape. also 20 or so old doors still in their caseings old 6 panel solid ( at least 100 yrs old ) great shape also.
Plus I got 30-40 high end fairly new crown molding 12 fters ..I think oak or something.. not pine( brand new ) also a few colums.. and some unique antique trimwork w/ teeth and ropes. I think there is an old bar in there to she said so... So i guess .. who do I call to get rid of this stuff... It's got to be a goldmine for restorers? anyone know of anybody who deals in that stuff? also.. she's got an old wagon..or buggy ( w/out a roof ) horsedrawn ..thats got to be 100's of years old and a model T I think .. she's asking me to sell that stuff for her... but most important... whats mine worth? |

Re: Vintage Crown Molding?
I think it would be pretty easy to get all the address' of re-modelers, builders and designer/decorators in your state. go to yellowpages.com and copy and paste all of them into excel. Do you know how to do a mail merge?
Take some pictures, write a personal letter, just like your post, and print it all out on your computer. If you mail to 1000 business' it will cost you about $370, and I doubt you would have to do more than one mailing to get a few interested parties. this whole process is pretty easy, I do it with small markets for my direct mail campaigns that involve less than 1000 address'. Idea #2 hire an auction company and have them do the exact same mailing, or do it yourself.
