Trim Painting

Will be starting a job which the trim needs to be painted over existing oil based paint. What is a good white oil base paint out there other than going to HD or Lowes to buy it. Does it need to be primed if the existing paint color is kinda of light brown color.

Re: Trim Painting

Porter's Glyptex is the best trim paint I've used. Ben Moore's Impervo is also a good choice.

As long as the old paint is still bonding, just sand, vacuum, and paint.

Re: Trim Painting

I like using the Impervo from Ben Moore
Very easy oil to work with
Just a scuff sand ought to do it-shouldn't need a primer
