Trim Paint

Real quick question... What are you guys using on your trim? (base, moldings, etc) I started with my dad 20yrs ago and it was BM oil on everything. We are acrylic now but are having a hard time finding a product for trim that we really like.

You have to use what I refer to as hybrid oil. It is a mixture of acrylic and oil properties. When you look at the back of the label to see how to clean up and it says soap and water you are on the right track. I have been using Murallo waterborne for the last two years and love it. I like it better than pro classic by Sw. I never tried the BM version in their impervo line or is that impervex?

Re: Trim Paint

Thanks, I have not used the BM. product yet. SW pro classic high gloss worked great on a hospital I once did, but the satin in SW might as well be called flat. Thanks again for your input.

I have used both the BM waterborne and Muralo and I prefer Muralo.

Re: Trim Paint

Thanks everyone...I have a new BM dealer in town and he told me he would pro-mo me a couple of gall. to try. I was raised with ben moore, but after one mishap after another and the out of control price of most of their products I got away from them. I figured if they gave it away I might use it..well they are...so I will

Re: Trim Paint

many people use high gloss on trim. sometimes i think my pro classic semi does look like it has much shine at all to it.

Re: Trim Paint

I like a satin oil...but the acrylics usually don't have the same satin sheen. I am trying to find a real good semi gloss to replace it with. The comment about the high gloss I made earlier was in responce to the question if I use water born pro classic or not. I have in high gloss. I dont like it on trim though

thanks for your feed back

Re: Trim Paint

Ahh, in that case look for a Duron dealer and ask for one coat white... I love that stuff, not quite a high gloss but not a semi. It's exterior latex but there are hundreds of homes up north that have that as an interior trim.. I know, I did em.
