Re: Time/Material Bill Complaint

I looked at those 2 numbers and thought to myself that it looked like a pretty big jump for 15%

SO I did 17, 20, 24, then 50, 40 then went "dumma$$" and divided it out and came up with 33.3%

But I could just tell by a glace it wasn't 15%

According to those numbers..appears he made an extra $145 ($2.30 an hour), for a grand net total of $30.30 per.

I hope he's ashamed of himself!

Re: Time/Material Bill Complaint

My math wasn't perfect on here. Giving a general idea, I didn't list all my tips/housings as supplies. My math was right on when I submitted the bill, multiplied all my supplies by 1.15. Hence a 15% mark up. Good catch though, Matlock.

Re: Time/Material Bill Complaint

You need a certain # of posts (20?) to get PM's.

So post some more, 410!

Me... I'm almost to 400...and it only took me 3 years!

I can appreciate where you're coming from. However, I have employees that I like to keep busy and if I priced jobs at $70. an hr. I would struggling to keep them employed. I live in Mass. so maybe prices are that different in other parts of the country.

this is the worst process ever thought up...it's lose/lose for the contractor and win/win for the customer...

if i do good, I short myself money....if i do bad, i pay money out of my pocket to finish...

if you are going to give a NTE, just give a firm price and at least have a chance at coming out ahead...
