SW Vs. Ben Moore Vs. Kelly Moore Vs. Rodda
So here's the deal I have been a diehard user of SW for about 5 years. A company that I used to work for used it and they held my hand while I got going on my own. I have spent over 100k there and really haven't considered any other products....which I should. I know that they are somewhat expensive and I am gearing my business towards exterior res. repaints for about a 7 month period and am working on growing my business significantly.....during my peak I will have 21 employees. So I am really trying to find a good paint dollar for dollar because each and every one counts.
I believe that this year I will use several suppliers and see who helps me the most with leads and good advice. My current SW sales rep has given me some bum advice that costed me and they had some screwups that costed me as well....hence my inspiration to checkout other suppliers. So from the companies listed above what have been your experiences with their high end exterior products, ext latex paing, ext oil primer, ext latex primers and what would you recommend as their best product to paint front doors with to provide the best finish by brush. The other companies carried in my area that I would consider are Cloverdale, Pittsburgh, Pratt & Lambert. Thank you very much for any and all feedback. You guys are great! ~Todd |

Re: SW Vs. Ben Moore Vs. Kelly Moore Vs. Rodda
I like SW- A100 oil the same as BM fresh start oil
I like Zinsser 1.2.3 latex primer and cover stain oil for small areas I like SW prep-rite products a lot, they've never done me wrong I like SW Duration for exterior bodies, and SW superpaint for trim I like Pittsburgh latex finish and Pro-Classic Latex for doors I like BM regal for finish on interior walls I'm getting far away from oil based finish paints, but havent found a latex primer that is nearly as good as oil primer, especially for hard woods, bleeding, tannin, knots, etc Hope this helps, all paint is expensive, so pick whichever gives you a slightly less cost but superior quality...good luck with that HUGE crew

I haven't used much else than SW. Have used a few others here & there, but never enough to really give an opinion on them. SW is pretty popular around here so that's what customers want 98% of the time.
