Suggestions For Priming New Wainscot

We just received some wainscot from back east that was supposed to be painted. It arrived raw and rather than send it back we are going to prime and paint it ourselves. It is a very nice Poplar and we plan to use Pro Classic as the top coat but I just wanted to know if anyone has any thoughts regarding primer. We generally use Gripper but I am just curious if any of you griseled veterans have any ideas that you may feel are useful.

If you are using an enamel, and it seems like you are, then use an enamel underbody

gripper is good primer, cause it sticks to anything, but is hard to sand.

SW problock is a very good primer, but pricey.
