Fairly... plently of bang for the buck but there is no manifold filter nor gun filter... so CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN em. They also seem to have a problem with factory ... "junk"... clogging the intake ball within the first few uses and not being able to really change the pressure using the stupid thumb wheel and pickup tube issues, thier helpline will tell you to duct tape it.. heh. Change the gun out for a better model, buy the extra 50' of hose, get a whip... good to go for the most part. I have had 5 pass through my shop in a year, same issues each time, the one that remains is a workhorse, although the one I kept was the 1020. I think they changed a few things in the last year on the model you refer to.

wow didnt know that about the NOT having filters. Last year a used a cheap magnum XR5 for a good bit of painting(about 200 apartments) and even it has gun filters! NEVER had a problem with the XR5, except for the one time I got lazy and didnt clean it for 2 days. really looking forward to getting branched out this year and painting more.. just need some more/better gear.

Slinger is absolutly correct, no manifold filter. That is what they are doing to all the smaller spray rigs. If you can get your hands on a 2205 good reliable rig with a manifold filter. I am thinking that you are buying used? an assumption due to the low price tag. For used if you bump your budget up a hundred bucks or 150 you can find a solid used rig. graco 495 a titan 440 or a rentspray which is a titan 640. If you are going to be using this rig often. Just a slight bit more will go a long way. Now if you are not buying used and this is a new rig.. well it's a decent deal.. I would still raise my budget the rig will pay for its self before you know it.

I have the SW 419, basically the same rig. It pumps like a demon. I only run lacquer through it, so the lack of a manifold filter never bothered me. If you're looking to run walls, I'd check out the new Graco 695 and up. Those rigs are strong enough to run two 100 ft. lines, maybe. 795 definately. You'd be stompin some apartments, buddy.

I have the graco 795 and the spraytech. Have one spraytech for lacquer and another for spraying latex for small jobs. We like the small spraytech for basement remodels etc. because it is easy to move around as opposed to the 795 which can be a beast.

Keep two rigs. One for Latex and one for oils. As far as being under $300 I would be interested in those prices because I worked with alot of crappy spray rigs and always managed to get them to work. Thats the trick. Do not let the spray gun run you. Do not become dependent on them. Too many painters rely on them that if they go down so do they.
