Spraying Trim

hello guys,

I am a general contractor and I do a lot of government housing. This houses need to get finished quickly. I am thinking about spraying my window casing and base boards with my airless sprayer. I was wondering if you guys could give me any tips on how to not get trim paint on my wall paint or flooring.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Spraying Trim

the tape and the plastic/paper are relatively cheap and readily available, the common sense to go along with is a bit harder to find...

Re: Spraying Trim

A brush would be about as fast as taping everything off. Probably faster. An airless is nice in the right place but can cause you a lot of problems in a short time if not careful. The reason it looks so easy when you see painters on the job is because they have been doing it for years.

Omg yeah... dont forget your waisted time cleaning up(masking, drops, pump etc)... not to mention if you spray this and overspray your walls you just increased your work load...

If you do, have someone tape it so i can watch it on youtube lol

Re: Spraying Trim

I always like to rack it outside and preprime and paint everything. After it's installed you only have a little touchup with a brush.

Re: Spraying Trim

There have been a couple discussions on here about trim, walls ceilings procedure. I have to agree with others who have posted on here that you should shoot ceiling, shoot trim, b & r walls.
