Spraying Has Ruined My Brush And Roll Estimating

I feel pretty confident about my way of bidding interiors. However, I have done so much spraying of exteriors it has kind of screwed me up when i go to a job that I have to brush and roll. I went to look at a job last night that was about 24 wide, single story house. Four inch siding that has faded. Just one coat. Height prob about 25 feet in peaks. I can't spray at this job. If i were spraying it i could have it masked off in an hour and sprayed in another hour. Anyone else ever feel like they lose their sense of time from so much spraying?

Not since I started using one of these

Plus you can do really cool things like have it on when the homeowner answers and say things like,

"Jack! I am your painter, Jack. Come to the outside. Experience the power of the powerwasher."

Wearing one makes you sound like this guy

And since I started using a respirator around spraying, I don't get confused anymore.

I take much more pride in cut n roll but its true mask n spray, back roll is way quicker either way price for the day not the 2hrs it takes its not your fault your fast why should you suffer they are gonna get the same quality job either way step up the price or slow down its a mind game. 2 me paintings a game i get paid 2 play so therefore i dont mind????? make sense 2 u ????? and keep your respirator on lord vader

I see what you're saying. However, I am much slower when i brush out a house. I guess you are right. The price shouldn't be much different. However, it does throw me off for my schedule. I can spray the section in 2 hours. However, If i were to brush the whole thing out it may take 6-8 hours.

it would be cost effective 2 add another seasoned guy for the day to bring your 6-8hr to a 3.5-4.5 day times his hrly should still put a better profit 4 the day in your pocket plus freeing up the rest of the day to start another job or bid out another putting you ahead either way!!!!!! j_dpaintingcontractors@hotmail.com

Then bid it for 6-8 hours of time.

Definately cant sit around on a job site even if the clients not home at all thru out the day theres always that nosey neighbor trust me your client will ,(a) never trust you and wont recommend you (b) youll never do work in that neighborhood again. period . dont bid unappropriately, it will reflect on you .bidding 6-8hrs on a 2hr spray is like cutting off your painting hand. JUST FU___N STUPID ,grab an extra guy on your cut n roll and pace yourself a little on your spraying spend an extra 1-1.5 on prep ,95% of a flawless job is in the prep anyway! J_dpaintingcontractors@hotmail.com IF your not totally stoked after you blow your clients mind with something that goes over and above their imagination you need to change your execution or something or take a desk job

This is exactly why I don't charge by the hour, or bid thus. If I get it done faster than I was supposed to, good for me.
