Spraying Exterior Weatherboards

Spray then back brush? Or just spray with fine tip? The reason I ask is that someone was telling me the other day that just spraying with a fine tip works great, however I am yet to try this method. What are your thoughts?

you will save time if you don't back brush but in my personal opinion you will get a better product if you do back brush.

spraying the material on wood doesn't work the paint into all the little cracks and crevices that a brush will. It all depends on what you are looking for in a finished product - quality or short cuts.

By the way, when I painted my house i didn't back brush, i was too lazy.

Say the client specifically asks for no brush strokes whatsoever. Would it be feasible to primer with a brush into cracks etc, sand back, then spray two coats with fine tip??

Re: Spraying Exterior Weatherboards

that would cost a lot. maybe just around the entry door I would do something like that.

If they want you to just spray then go for it, like I said, that's how i painted my house for the most part.

i wouldnt use a fine tip. use a 517 or 417 for latex
