I would think it would dry faster than super glue in a wind storm

Re: Spray Shellac (tips Please)

3 lb cut refers to 3lbs shellac to 1 gallon of alcohol. That's the standard cut for spraying, as far as tips and pressure, I don't know. 1 lb cut would be used as a sealer. And may be desirable as a first coat before laying down a 3 lb cut, because the 3 lb may not stick.

I have yet to do so but would like to give it a try. Perhaps even with stain. Thus far I have brushed on shellac. For the finish work I use at least two coats with sanding in between.

Re: Spray Shellac (tips Please)

wouldn't the shellac kill your sprayer? Dont get me wrong, I've heard of spraying it, but I dont know if I'd run it through my rig. Are we talking about shellac primer?

No guy, hes talking finish shellac, amber would refer to the semi clear shellac. As far as spraying it through an HVLP setup.. better have ALOT of it to spray to make it worth it... I wouldn't unless I was doing alot of furniture and had ALOT of air volume moving through.

thanks benn...the "amber" part should've given it away to me

Benn (side note)...planning on heading to Destin, FL on vacation this summer with wifey. Father in law owns a villa at a resort there, we get free lodging there of course. What's up with Destin? Nice place?

Destin rocks.. hidden spot from the incoming droves of spring breakers, great seafood and bars, great nightlife, got wiped out from a hurricane several years ago so everything is fairly new... pretty much florida in a nutshell.

Btw, it's spring so it's only 73 atm, though thats at 11:05 pm... may want to bring a light jacket with ya for the cool breezes off the gulf... no i'm not kidding.
