Re: Spray Guns

I like the Graco Contractor 2 gun. Sometimes a heavy paint will cause spitting. Could you have an air leak? Maybe need to repack your gun. Is your tip too big?

Re: Spray Guns

I also like the contractor2. The LX80 guns are all right though, as long as you have the two finger gun. I would recomend a gun rebuild kit as well. I have had some rac5 graco tips that have developed worm holes in the tip that has also caused spitting. As far as sprayers go, i prefer a graco 695, good solid unit very versitile.

Re: Spray Guns

I too like the Graco guns, most of the time when mine start spitting I find the needle is worn and needs replacing, or there is gunk in the needle/spring chamber of the gun. Old paint cruds up the spring and keeps it from working properly, or little pieces of old paint get caught in the seat or around the needle shaft. I disassemble the gun, soak the pieces in MEK, and clean them up, reassemble it and the gun usually works fine from there. If there are any parts that look worn I just get a rebuild kit and do the whole gun.
