Soot
Do I have to use aan oil based primer/sealer to cover mystery soot coming from a heater vent on ceiling? HO tried to wipe it and just smeared it in.

Krud Kutter cleaner. Same thing happened in my own house and it worked like a charm. Just remember to wash the Krud Kutter off with clean water before painting.
