Re: Sherwin Williams Question
i love SW. My local store is great. I dont even step foot in other stores anymore. I really am not concerned about prices. My customers are paying for material anyhow. I love their quality and they are always there to assist me. Just my 2cent

Re: Sherwin Williams Question
The only problem we have had is that sometimes if I go and charge at a different store they will get my pricing wrong. My rep says that they are working on this problem but all and all I have to agree with Traditions.

Re: Sherwin Williams Question
I have no problem with them. Esp with the new store manager. He seems to go out of his way to help in anyway possible. I think that the manager of the store you are at is key in everything. If he isnt that good, or doesn't seem to care... wel chances are you won't be happy there.

Re: Sherwin Williams Question
No problems what-so-ever. They have recently locked my prices so that any store gives me paint and supplies at those prices with no issues. Honestly SW is less laid back and I like that. It's all business with some chat. When I walk into a BM store, all I see are old guys behind the counter offering coffee and always want to talk for hours. No offense against BM itself, that was just an example.
I get tons of free stuff from SW as "demo's", lol...plus the fact that I'm using so much duration these days...they have lowered my price so much it kind of made me think that they really want my business. Overall I have never felt so taken care of. |

Re: Sherwin Williams Question
I agree with all previous posts! I get great service, they deliver, freebies, help solve problems.
The first 2 months I checked all my receipts against invoices, about 4500 bucks worth, not one error and 2% off for paying by the 10th. They do have a strange pricing schedule, seems like it is based on managers discretion rather than volume. I love em!

Re: Sherwin Williams Question
SW must have made a great turn around. I tried using them in the early 90's when I start my biz, they talk to me like they were shoe salesman's telling me try everything under the sun... I just wanted reasonable prices on a decent paint product... I tried even more then one store and same ole thing.. oh well. I went to the mom and pop stores for BM and never looked back.. All tho the mom and pop stores going the way of the dinosaur here..
I hate being to talk to let I am buying a car... not a fan of salesman, sales reps, etc...

Re: Sherwin Williams Question
I always loved SW products, but since i moved to upstate ny from long island 5 years ago I have not had much good interaction with these guys. downstate they were my primary store and they were good. Here, it has been nothing but hassle and aggravation as I cant ever seem to get the same price for anything from one day to the next. Yeah, i know the customer is paying for the material but that is not justification for their pricing policies. Maybe its just me but it seems like they dont want to know you if your not gonna be dropping 10 grand into their pockets every month. I basically avoid them now if I can help it. I'm not looking for them to give me the store, just be fair with me. I dont feel like they have been.just my .02 cents.

Re: Sherwin Williams Question
I agree with Mak, the sw that is closest to my side of town has bad customer service. I talk to a sw rep every so often, when they are trying to get my business and i tell them why i do not use them, he tells me it is different now. But now i am happy with pitts so why change.
