Sherwin Pricing

Hello
I recently suggested to a client of mine that she purchase SW latex gloss for a d.i.y. project outside my scope. She had to have the two gallons today to finish on time and she was charged 91.45. Moderators, being new to the site I haven't read anything about posts of this nature but don't really see any either. I just feel like maybe she got hosed and I gave her bad advice. I also understand you get what you pay for. BTW she purchased through her family business account based in Elmwood Park Il. any help/advise would be appreciated TYIA Tom
P.s. exact PROCL LTX HG EXTRA B21W351

That is the retail price that they charge to DIYers in my neck of the woods.

Like I said SW jacked the prices for DIY. Now they offer Preferred Customer accounts, saving 15% on purchases. They are also offered special sales promotions.

around here M.A.B. was just aquired by Shermin Wilson . I'v been raised in the painting business and at the age of 44 , I believe S&H is a whore company selling nothing but slop and monopilizing the trade.

From skin in the paint and having to "strain" it , to the sleeves priced at 7.00-15.00 $ THAT SHED LIKE A cat.

Is any one else having problems having to "re-sand walls" cause of nap hairs ???

Once M.A.B. brands are obsolete , I WILL GO BENNY MOORE ALL THE WAY !

Who's onboard?

There's been some steep increases in paint during the last six months. Take away FL sales tax and I think you get 42.50 gal. I also just paid that for Pro Classic SG stock White a month ago. The list I think is $55 ?

For a kitchen / bath they got their best latex. For all else use Super Paint still $33 - $37 gal

I get 28% off list and 10% - 40% off sundries depending.

Two weeks ago I got an addl gal of BM Duralux Alkyd SG White...up $9 from the previous month I think to $64 gal.

MAB is here and I may try them cause I've lost a job or two I know due to the material price plus my 1.34 multiplier, 20% margin.

I was a rep for ICI. If your friend has never purchased a particular product on their account, it will price at full retail until they show a history of using that product. Then they'll lower the price.

The idea is to charge you standard contractor's price except for the items you use the most of.

Doesn't help that they purchased a premium product. I know DIY'ers at my store paid an arm and a leg for Dulux products....
