Roll/brush vs Spray

I was wondering what the two different forms of painting. do they produce similar quality? What does the customer prefer to have done?

Spraying produces a smoother finish which may be important on things like steel doors, etc. Other than that, there isn't much major difference. Sprayin is much faster, and if we can spray, we do. It is in our contract that we will decide the most efficient way to handle the painting process whether it's brush/roll/spray. Since we do mostly repaints, spraying is not always possible, but I do believe this is one part that should be left to the painters to decide. If the customer has a specific request to have a smooth surface on their front door or something, we will accomodate them and charge accordingly if the door needs removed to do so.

Spraying is alot faster, probably not on interior repaints unless you like prep work, masking, etc. I would say that quality lies in the applicator. Some older people still like to have there walls brushed...lol. I would say spray or roll would be more like slick or orange peel. Its totally prefence like flat or semigloss.
