Repair hole in hardboard siding

I'm looking for suggestions for repairing a hole in hardboard siding. The hole is about 2 inches wide. I would like the finish to be flush with the siding and blend in as much as possible. I'll prime and paint to finish it off.

Thanks for your help.

Stared at this five times.. dunno what to tell you, i'll assume you are talking hardiplank, should be replaced if there's a two inch hole in it. Other than that, maybe a latex exterior putty would work, but two inches..................

...or maybe the minwax 2 part epoxy filler

hard as a rock in 10 minutes

I'm sure you've already called an installer and asked them what to do

if not...get on that

Remove firring strips on either side of the panel, pry it out and replace with a new one.

Invest in a cats paw.

I agree with replacing the siding piece, but...

sometimes there is some reason not to, and you could cut the hole into a square, and then plug it with a piece of wood that is epoxied in place. Then just belt sand it smooth.

Just a thought.

if it's not in a hi viz area, get a backing in behind it and use some bondo. on the 2nd pass, texture it a bit to match the siding. prime & paint it r
