Repaint; Should I Prime?
I'm going to repaint the interior of the house.
The paint thats on the walls has bit of sheen to it, I'm not sure if it's eggshell or satin, but it's kind of shiny. Do I need to prime it before I repaint it? I'm putting eggshell back on. |

As long as the surface is clean, all you need to do is a quick and light sanding.

I'm not a painter but I'd prime if you did any patching and/or if you are going over a dark color. No matter what I encourage you to sand first! I am sure the pros will agree with me.

Yep, what they ^^^ said. Be sure that its latex you are going over and not oil.

Wash the walls first and then a light sanding and a wipe down with "swipper" cloth. If you are not covering dark paint and going to a light color, use a primer with a 1/2 tint and then the finish coat.

Agree with the above...
If you are patching any nail holes or larger...be sure to prime the finish work. Give a light sand, wash the walls down. If you are a DIY(do it yourselfer), do not listen to any paint supplier about a wall pre cleaner. So far there is only one cleaner on the market at present that doesn't leave a film on your wall, Mr. Clean.

What do you all consider light sanding?

You just want to scruff up the surface.
