Removing Paint From Concrete Floor
Ive been asked to remove paint from a painted concrete floor. The floor has been painted with some sort of oil based product and has failed, mainly due to improper surface prep over glossy painted surface. Im assuming the new coating didnt bite into the old. The floor needs to be completely stripped and new SW coating applied, following their exact procedures. Sandblasting with my equipment is out of the question because of dust and i cannot get equipment down there.
What are my options to remove the paint from the floor? 12x16 12x46 |

Re: Removing Paint From Concrete Floor
Naw, I don't think so...no nearly beefy enough.... though it's kind of like a buffing machine
Except these screen/disc/cutting things instead of buffing pads ![]() There's three round discs underneath that thing You can switch them out for decks/concrete ...and they ain't cheap...diamond...carbide... It's slow going, heavy (that black collar over the white part is a removable weight), but effective

Re: Removing Paint From Concrete Floor
My QC Products distributor will 'loan' one if I'm using their products for the floor.

How about a shot blaster. Either rent one or have someone come in and do it for you?

Re: Removing Paint From Concrete Floor
Try soda blasting, it will not open up the surface of the concrete, but will remove the paint. We have a local sub who uses extension hoses to reach interior areas. Don't know about dust control though.
