Recoating with Stain on Walls

Situation:

New Construction home recently had the hardwood floors finished , stained & poly.

We painted 1 coat on the entire house then the hardwood floors were finished. These guys are very sloppy guys and have wood stain all over the walls ( bottom portion ) Along with dents & scratches.

Floors are finished and we are ready to paint the 2nd coat. I know with the colors in the house, it will not cover the stain. I am using Promar 200 in egg shell.

Question: What product can i use to remove the stain on the walls without having to prime & paint the affected area? If i had to do it this way, its going to be a B&itch . So many areas have stain.

What chemistry is the stain?

If you don't know, I would try some MEK first... Don;t wipe the floor or spill it!

I just did this to a house and mineral spirits worked when the stain was only an hour old.
