Priming after trim/doors installed

Is there any advantage of waiting until all the trim and doors are installed to prime and paint? All trim and doors are pre primed. I was thinking on waiting until all the drim and doors were up, then caulking, filling nail holes, priming all drywall, painting ceilings, then spray trim doors, then tape trim/remove doors and paint walls. The walls and clg all are the same color. (egshell). Just like to see what others think on this process. I am doing all the trim and paint, so I can do in any order. Seems this way I could set up to paint and do most of it all at once.
The disadvanage to this would be having to paint around the kitchen cabinets, etc

Thks for the input!!

Personally I think anything "pre-primed" or "factory primed" needs a new primer coat. I like to have the trim pack installed using hardware that I can paint over and replace later, caulk it, fill the nail holes and then prime everything (walls, ceiling and trim pack) from there. I don't see a need for the cabinets to be in while you are painting. Then I usually do the ceilings in one coat flat and then brush and roll 2 coats eggshell on the walls. With an 18" roller and some skill this should go faster than you think. Good luck!

If this is new construction or a kitchen remodel, then I would definitely paint first before the cabinets go up. You may still have to do some touch up work after the cabinets are installed and if caulked along the counter tops but that's a lot easier than trying to tape off and paint around NEW cabinets that the customer just paid thousands of dollars for.

On a separate note, did they really want the walls and trim to be all the same color and type of paint? Or is this just a rental property?

Thanks for the reply guys! You are correct, I dont need the cabinets in while I am painting. However, the only way to properly install the trim is to have the cabinets in so I can but the trim to them. Oops,....I didn't mean walls and trim the same color, I meant the walls and clg would be the same color ,....sorry. The trim will be white and the walls/clg will be an off white (I forget the name of the color). Walls and clg will be eggshell. I kept the clg eggshell to keep things simple. This is a spec home, although I may actually be moving in. I have a sprayer (magnum xr7) that I would like to spray the walls and clgs, then backroll. I would like to spray the doors and trim as well. I like the spray look on trim and doors vs brush.

thks!!
