Preferred Acrylic Brushes

Last year I picked up a 100% polyster brush to compare with the nylon/poly blends. It was the first brush I literally wore out. The bristles wore down before they frayed. Before that and as a backup I was always impressed the Wooster Jaguar 3.5" straight contractor brush. Anyone have thoughts on polyster brushes or brushes that your crews are not allowed to borrow and subsequently destroy.

I have a purdy one that I love. It loads great and cuts straight lines!

Re: Preferred Acrylic Brushes

I don't particularly like Polyester brushes. I prefer nylon. But each has it's use. Ploy is better for exterior work as it holds it's firmness in the heat. Some of the new chemical tipping processes are making the bristles nearly as soft tipped as nylon now. However, it's a mess to get them clean in the newer aggressive acrylics. Nylon releases much better in the same paints and make cleanup much easier. I like the Wooster Soft line of nylon for the most part but I have to use the Xtra Firm line outside because nylon does softer up in the heat.
