I've been power washing for about 3 years (cold unit 2700 psi portable) Im considering getting a truck mount, and possibly a hot unit.
?? what should I be looking for??
?? are there a differance for house washing (low pressure)
any advise would be helpfull

Re: Power Washing

Here let this show you how wise I am.

The first time I used a power washer (2600psi) I took a
very nice chunk of mortar out of a brick wall.
That’s how I learned why they call it a power washer.

But, I can’t answer your original thread, and I refuse to guess.
The only advice I may have is, see what type/brand/system the competitor use for ideas.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

I guess the question I would ask is what do you plan on cleaning?

When looking for new machines I:
Look for reliable engines that will be running for approx 24 hours straight day and night. Choose a well known engine like Honda or Briggs Etc
Also choose a well known pump like AR, General, or Cat Etc
Depending on what you plan on cleaning get a hot unit with a thermostat to adjust temperature. You do not want over 200 deg water spraying vinyl siding or other surfaces where paint or other will peel off, and melt.
Belt drive is to me better than direct drive for water tank reasons and other.
Your machine if hot and spending the money should have no less than 5 GPM and at the least 3,500 PSI
The machine you choose should also be serviceable near you, not across state lines where down time is money. Warranty purposes also.
Other than that the color, frame, stickers, chrome, lights are just all a models distinguishing marks like cars and trucks have options and styles. As long as it has the heart the body doesn't matter much to me. Brand names cost more and are pretty much the same as all others I have seen over the years. They all have a well known engine, and pump. Just different chassis.
Hope this helps some.
Dave

Re: Power Washing

hey i know this might seem trivial but...... good hoses are so nice to have and some lower end models have hoses that crack, split come apart or whatever. good hoses and clamps a must. (ok im not going to go into a very embarrassing thing that happened to me once)

oh and. i know you already know all about hoses, im just reminding you because it seems like one of those things that might go overlooked (because ive done it) not too mention it's just nicer working all day with a good quality gear.
